Alibaba hookah bar and restaurant first opened its doors in 2005. Ever since, we have been committed to keeping the Egyptian culture alive in Chicagoland. Our founder, Alex Attia, first arrived in the United States in 1991. As an Egyptian, he wanted to create a place where Middle Eastern patrons could perceive as home and Americans as a new experience. He built Alibaba with a vision that people could enjoy traditional shisha and food. Since then, we have welcomed guests from all over the world.

We do not simply serve shisha to make a living. Our work is a lifestyle, one that welcomes diverse cultures. We deliver our shishas, furniture, and decoration directly from Egypt in attempt to preserve our culture as best as possible. Our patrons’ support has kept us going for over a decade and we strive to provide the best shisha experience in town. We are open every day and hope you will join us soon.
